The Cal-Nev Philippine Solidarity Task Force is a volunteer-run, volunteer-led group. We work through the UMC institution, though not all members or participants have been United Methodist. Some have returned to their faith or deepened in their spiritual walk, and a few have become United Methodists because of our ministry of solidarity. All have experienced transformation through building friendships with those in the Philippines, for whom we work for and with.
Being people of faith-rooted justice and acknowledging liberation as interconnected, we are an LGBTQ inclusive and affirming group.
The National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP) is our primary partner in the ministry. We work in response to NCCP, listening to their recommendations on campaigns and allowing them to shape our Visit itineraries.
We work with the National Ecumenical Forum for Filipino Concerns, Northern California (NEFFCON NorCal) on campaigns in the US. We are a Task Force of the California-Nevada Annual Conference Committee on Advocacy & Justice.
